FAQ
Will these candles provide a fragrance even if they are not lit?
Only those candles, tea lights and our floating candles in our fragrant range maintain their scent when both lit and unlit, however some fragrances and brands may have a more subtle fragrance.

How do I burn my candle the right way, so I don't waste any wax.
To get the most out of your candles, tealights, floating candles, jar candles and our Wedding candles and to burn them safely, care must be taken to burn the candle correctly. Here are some tips so you get the most out of your candles.

  1. While a candle is lit, you should be within the vicinity of the candle. This will assist in preventing wax from spilling over and potential accidents from occurring. Take the necessary precautions as you would for any open flame.
  2. Length of burn.Allow a candle to burn long enough so its melt pool burns almost to the full circumference of the candle. If a candle is only lit for a short amount of time you limit your candle from burning beyond that point. It will simply burn down and you may waste a great deal of wax. Just as you should allow a candle to burn long enough, you shouldn’t allow it to burn too long. Once the melt pool reaches the edge of the diameter of the candle, blow it out and let the candle set. Once it's set you can re-light.
  3. Wick Length. Trim wicks to ¼ inch and re-trim before each burn. Wick length determines flame height, the longer the wick the larger and more unwieldy the flame. The trim must not be too short, as it will extinguish itself in the melt pool.
  4. Drafts. A draft causes a candle to burn to one side. Keep candle out of drafts. You may have a draft and not even know. You occasionally might rotate your candle a bit to compensate for any slight drafts.
  5. Extinguishing your candle. Burning the candle correctly will create a sizeable melt pool. It is a good idea to use a snuffer rather than blowing out the flame as the hot melted wax may blow onto your furniture or wall surface.
  6. Burn and enjoy your candle until it reaches 1" from the bottom. After that point it is time to stop using that candle. A tin is unsafe to burn beyond ½” as the fragrance oils collect at the bottom and may catch fire.
  7. Keep candles out of reach of children and pets and remove all flammable materials from the vicinity of the flame. Remove all debris from candle.
  8. Use a heat resistant candleholder under every candle you burn. This will not only beautify your candle, it will also prevent fragrance oil from harming the surface it is placed upon. Avoid placing a lit candle adjacent to a wall or window as soot may form.

Is it OK to fall asleep while a candle is burning?
No. Treat the candle with the same care you would any open flame.

How do I burn my Votive Candle effectively?
Place the votive candle in a properly designed votive holder after placing a spoon full of water in the bottom of the container. This assists in the removal of the remaining wax after the candle has burned down.

Votives are designed to melt entirely and will happily burn in the holder for the time specified by the manufacturer.
